The mission of the Vincennes Township Fire Department is to provide community safety and education, protect life, prevent loss and provide support and relief to those in need.

The Vincennes Township Fire Department is a progressive, full-service fire department that provides fire protection and emergency services to the Vincennes Township Fire District.  The department is a combination department, using 10 career and 60 volunteer members, to accomplish our mission.  We respond to emergencies from four fire stations strategically located to provide rapid response to those who request service.  Each year the men and women of the Vincennes Township Fire Department respond to over 900 calls for assistance.

Being a full-service fire department means we provide a multitude of services to keep you safe.  The fire department provides many response capabilities including fire suppression, automobile extrication, water rescue, hazardous material incident mitigation and pre-hospital emergency medical care.  The members of the Vincennes Township Fire Department also provide services that are designed to keep you safe by preventing an emergency from occurring or educating you on the proper procedures to prevent death or injury in the event of an emergency, these include public education activities, fire prevention inspections of commercial buildings and participating in community planning and development.

Our members, both career, and volunteer are the resource that most directly result in our success.  Each year our members participate in nearly 8,000 hours of training.  The time each member devotes to responding, training, public relations activities and support activities is a sign of their devotion and commitment not only to the fire department but to you the citizens of the area.  Many of our members are involved in emergency services beyond the local scene, several serve on state and regional boards of emergency service organizations.  Some teach at local and regional firefighting training schools.  We have members who have earned awards for their efforts in firefighting, public education, emergency medical service and service to the community.  All of the members of the Vincennes Township Fire Department are hard-working individuals who are committed to our mission.  We are grateful for their continued involvement with the organization.
